Minimum Wage Changes
From 1 November 2020 a number of awards increased their minimum wage rate & allowances. These awards included the construction, manufacturing, clerks, legal service, professional employees & real estate industries.
Businesses should refer to the updated awards to ensure compliance with the new minimum rates.

As part of the 2020-21 Budget, the government announced a new incentive for businesses to employ additional young job seekers.
The Job Maker Hiring Credit will be available for up to 12 months for all new jobs created from 7 October 2020. There will be conditions for an employer to be eligible. If an employer is eligible then the credit will be:
- $200 per week for each eligible employee aged between 16 and 29; and
- $100 per week for each eligible employee aged between 30 and 35
