Welcome to our first newsletter of the 2020 year, we at Milroy Accounting hope you had a great time over the holidays.

Commencing new team members

Employers must now ensure that all new employees are given a Fair Work Information Statement. Significant penalties can be applied to employers for non-compliance. The Fair Work Information Statement has been designed to make it easy for you to understand minimum workplace entitlements. To obtain a copy access the Fair Work website.

Has your employee's award changed?

The Fair Work Ombudsman has been reviewing awards and will be releasing new versions of some awards. These changes take place from the first pay period on or after 4 February 2020. Please ensure you check your award for any changes made or contact your HR Advisor for assistance.

ATO Bushfire Relief

The Commissioner of Taxation, Chris Jordan, announced that he has extended a package of tax assistance for people impacted by the recent devastating bushfires in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia & Tasmania as part of the whole-of-government response to the disaster.
